Blending Irish & Scottish traditions with those of French Canada

Arise & Go

While the album title might certainly refer to Arise & Go’s collective musical influences, “Meeting Place” also aptly describes the trio’s facility for combining precision with passion.
Boston Irish Reporter

Arise & Go is an exciting Celtic trio that finds its roots in the dance music of Ireland, Scotland and Atlantic Canada. Blending pipes, whistles, fiddle, and guitar, the group’s varied musical backgrounds combine to produce a sound which is both grounded in tradition and uniquely fresh and driving. From intimate house concerts to festival stages, Arise & Go has been hailed for their “precision and energy”.

Arise & Go, winners of North America’s longest running live folk radio broadcast Best of Bound for Glory Award 2018, has been featured in Irish Music Magazine, Roots Music Canada, and the Irish American News and praised for their “musical complexity and colour” that is also “authentically mindful of tradition.” 2019 sees the release of the band’s new album Meeting Place as members Ellie Goud (fiddle), Michael Roddy (uilleann pipes, border pipes, smallpipes, whistles) and Tim Ball (guitar, foot percussion) showcase the different Celtic traditions that each brings to the group’s sound.
